Revival Engineering

What is Revival Engineering?

Revival Engineering is the practice of removing cloud computing where it is not justified. It keeps cloud services that earn their cost and moves the rest to hardware the business owns or rents directly.

What is a Revival Engineer?

A Revival Engineer is an engineer who practices Revival Engineering. Revival Engineer is also the name of this service: a human proxy who does that work under your name.

Is Revival Engineering against the cloud?

No. The cloud is justified for spiky or unknown demand, fast reach into many regions, short-lived workloads, and managed services that cost less than running the equivalent yourself. Revival Engineering removes only what fails that test.

How is Revival Engineering different from cloud repatriation?

Cloud repatriation is the act of moving workloads out of the public cloud. Revival Engineering is the discipline around it: deciding which workloads should move, moving them, keeping the cloud where it is justified, and writing down the result.

How do I know whether a workload should leave the cloud?

Use the five-question justification test. Ask whether elasticity saves money, whether the cloud costs less than owned or rented hardware once staff are counted, whether each managed service removes more work than it adds, whether you could leave the provider within a quarter, and whether anyone can explain what the workload costs. Each “no” is a reason to move it.

The human proxy

What does Revival Engineer do?

Revival Engineer works as a human proxy for removing cloud computing where it is not justified. I do the work, and the client’s name goes on it.

What is a human proxy?

A person who does the work on your behalf while you remain its owner and its face, the way an author is the face of a ghostwritten book.

Do you write books?

No. Ghostwriting is the model, not the product. The work is removing cloud computing where it is not justified.

Who gets the credit?

You do. Revival Engineer is not named on the work.

What does the work include?

Mapping the cloud bill to workloads, running the five-question justification test, planning the move, doing the engineering, and writing up the results. The contract sets out exactly which of these I do for you.

How does the process work?

You apply by email, submit proof of pay, and sign the contract. Then I do the work as your proxy, and you deliver the result under your name.

The fee and the contract

How much does it cost?

20% of your annual compensation. If you are paid $200,000 a year, the fee is $40,000.

Why is the fee based on compensation?

The work goes out under your name and counts toward your career, so the fee scales with what your role pays. Every client pays the same rate.

What counts as proof of pay?

Documentation of your current annual compensation, such as recent pay stubs, an employment contract, or a tax return.

What counts as annual compensation?

The amount shown on your proof of pay. The contract states the exact fee before any work is delivered.

When is the contract signed?

Before any work is delivered. It states the fee and the terms, and both sides sign it.

Is the work confidential?

Yes. The contract covers confidentiality, and it is signed before any work is delivered.

How do I apply?

Email durjaneeya@pm.me with your name, your role, and a few sentences about what runs in your cloud.
